Popolopen
Popolopen is the name of several related landmarks mainly within the Hudson Highlands of Orange County, New York. These include a mountain, Popolopen Torne—or simply "The Torne", and a short and steep-sided nearby valley officially called Hell Hole, but often Popolopen Gorge. Popolopen Creek runs through this valley. The Popolopen Bridge spans its mouth at the Hudson River and is crossed by Route 9W. Popolopen Lake feeds the headwaters of its namesake creek.

Manitou (Metro-North station)
The Manitou Metro-North Railroad station (pronounced Mani-tow), open part-time (one peak hour train in each direction, and two weekend trains) serves the residents of that hamlet in the southwestern corner of the Town of Philipstown in Putnam County, New York, via the Metro-North Hudson Line. It is 46 miles from Grand Central Terminal and travel time to Grand Central is approximately one hour, 16 minutes. Manitou is one of two stations on the Hudson Line that receives limited passenger service.

Doodletown, New York
Doodletown was an isolated hamlet in the Town of Stony Point Rockland County, New York, United States. Purchased by the Palisades Interstate Park Commission during the 1960s, it is now part of Bear Mountain State Park and a popular destination for hikers, birdwatchers, botanists, and local historians.
