Wolf Laurel, North Carolina, is an unincorporated, private gated community, located in Madison and Yancey Counties of Western North Carolina. It is located approximately 30 miles north of Asheville, North Carolina, 6 miles from interstate 26 and borders the Cherokee National Forest, Tennessee state line and Appalachian Trail. Wolf Ridge Ski Resort

Wolf Ridge Ski Resort is a ski resort located near Mars Hill, North Carolina. The area has twenty-three ski slopes and trails. Approximately 57% of the slopes are rated beginner, 35% intermediate, and 8% advanced. With a top elevation of 4,600 feet, Wolf Ridge has a maximum vertical drop of 700 feet . The slopes are accessed by four chair lifts and two carpet lifts. Typical of North Carolina ski areas, Wolf Ridge relies primarily on man-made snow for its slopes.

Flag Pond is an unincorporated community in Unicoi County, Tennessee. It is part of the Johnson City Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is a component of the Johnson City–Kingsport–Bristol, TN-VA Combined Statistical Area – commonly known as the "Tri-Cities" region. The community's name is believed to be derived from the presence of "flag flowers" growing in wet areas at the edge of a local pond.
