Balsam Gap

Balsam Gap (el. 3,400 ft) is a mountain pass between the Plott Balsam Range to the northwest and the Great Balsam Mountains to the southeast on the county line dividing Haywood and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The gap allows both the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway and the Murphy Branch of the Norfolk Southern Railway to cross between the two counties running east-west.

WWCU

WWCU FM 90.5 is a radio station licensed to Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. The station plays a classic hits format. WWCU broadcasts 24 hours a day, seven days a week from studios in the Old Student Union on the Western Carolina campus as Jackson County's only local FM radio station. Student staff members work in an academic environment with studios similar to those found in commercial stations.

Maggie Valley, North Carolina

Maggie Valley is a town in Haywood County, North Carolina, USA. The population was 607 at the 2000 census. It is home to the Ghost Town in the Sky amusement park. Maggie Valley is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community gets its name from Maggie Mae Setzer; her father John "Jack" Sidney Setzer founded the area's first post office and named it after one of his daughters.

Waynesville, North Carolina

Waynesville is a town in and the county seat of Haywood County, North Carolina, United States. It is the largest town in Haywood County and the largest in Western North Carolina west of Asheville. Waynesville is located about 30 miles or 50 km southwest of Asheville between the Great Smoky and Blue Ridge mountains. In the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 9,232 with an estimate (by the town government) of 10,000 as of early 2007.

East Waynesville Baptist Church

East Waynesville Baptist Church is a Baptist church in Waynesville, a small town in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, United States of America. It is an independent and autonomous member of the Southern Baptist Convention and the Baptist State Convention of North Carolina (BSCNC). As of May 2005 it had 100 members.
