The School Of Alternatives

The School Of Alternatives, also known as The HUB, is an alternative school in Jackson County, North Carolina for grades K-12 which deals with students who are disabled or have social/behavioral issues in the other county schools. It opened in the old Scotts Creek School, built in 1951, in 2002 after the new Scotts Creek Elementary School opened in 2001. The building received several renovations when it was converted into the HUB.

WWCU FM 90.5 is a radio station licensed to Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. The station plays a classic hits format. Balsam Gap

Balsam Gap (el. 3,400 ft) is a mountain pass between the Plott Balsam Range to the northwest and the Great Balsam Mountains to the southeast on the county line dividing Haywood and Jackson counties in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The gap allows both the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway and the Murphy Branch of the Norfolk Southern Railway to cross between the two counties running east-west.

Cherokee High School (Cherokee, North Carolina)

Cherokee High School is a public high school located in Cherokee, North Carolina. The school was originally housed in a 1950s/1960s building, but moved to a new, modern, beautiful, state-of-the-art, green facility in 2010. Cherokee High School is a part of the Cherokee Central Schools System. It is the only 9-12 high school on the reservation, and shares a campus with Cherokee Elementary and Cherokee Middle School.
