St. James Lutheran Church is a member church of the North American Lutheran Church located close to Newton, North Carolina. St. James was founded in 1867 and currently has about 500 members. Maiden High School

Maiden High School is a high school located in Maiden, North Carolina. It currently has about 800 students. Maiden High School is known for both its football and musical theatre programs. In the past, the team's have won about 20 championships. Maiden High School moved from an older building (which is now Maiden Middle School) to the newly built high school. The school contains an auditorium, auxiliary gym, a main gym, an auto shop, a wood shop, and a culinary arts shop.

Newton-Conover Health and Science High School

The Newton-Conover School of Discovery was created through a partnership grant with the North Carolina New Schools Project, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Newton-Conover City Schools.
