Owl Creek is an unincorporated community in Cherokee County, North Carolina, United States, ten miles northwest of Murphy. It was named by a family of Cherokee Indians who lived in the area, named uguku (owl). They lost their land to the United States during Indian Removal. WKRK (AM)

WKRK is a radio station broadcasting a Classic Country format in addition to Southern Gospel music. Licensed to Murphy, North Carolina; it has been owned by the Radford family since July 20, 1995 and features the Classic Country format from Dial Global, a popular tradio show called PartyLine and Associated Press Radio News. The music format and station name is "Country GOLD!" WKRK's daytime signal reaches Western North Carolina, North Georgia, and East Tennessee.
