Lake Junaluska is a census-designated place (CDP) in Haywood County, North Carolina, USA. It is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 2,675 at the 2000 census. It is notable as the site of the headquarters of the World Methodist Council, a consultative body linking almost all churches in the Methodist tradition.

Cataloochee Ski Area

Cataloochee is a ski area located near Maggie Valley, North Carolina. The area has fourteen ski slopes and trails. Approximately 25% of the slopes are rated beginner, 50% intermediate, and 25% advanced. With a top elevation of 5,400 feet, Cataloochee has a maximum vertical drop of 740 feet . The slopes are accessed by five chair lifts and two carpet lifts. Typical of North Carolina ski areas, Cataloochee relies primarily on man-made snow for its slopes.

Maggie Valley, North Carolina

Maggie Valley is a town in Haywood County, North Carolina, USA. The population was 607 at the 2000 census. It is home to the Ghost Town in the Sky amusement park. Maggie Valley is part of the Asheville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community gets its name from Maggie Mae Setzer; her father John "Jack" Sidney Setzer founded the area's first post office and named it after one of his daughters.

Tuscola High School

Tuscola High School is a public senior high school located in Waynesville, North Carolina, United States, about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west-southwest of Asheville. Tuscola High School succeeded the original Waynesville Township High School during the 1966 consolidation that merged Fines Creek and Crabtree High Schools with Waynesville. The school was built in the Tuscola community of East Waynesville, near Lake Junaluska and was named after the community in which it was built.
