WARR
WARR is a radio station broadcasting an African American Variety format to the Warrenton, North Carolina, USA area. The station is currently owned by Quad Divisions, Inc DBA Darensburg Broadcasting. WARR went on the air in 1970 in Warren County, North Carolina. Transmitter output was 1000 watts at the time. The station was co-founded by Vernon Steed, owner of the Warren Theater. His partner was Jim Mayers, the owner of WSRC located in Durham, North Carolina at the time.

Lake Gaston is a hydroelectric reservoir in east United States of America. Part of the lake is in the North Carolina counties of Halifax, Northampton, and Warren. The part extending into Virginia lies in Brunswick and Mecklenburg counties. Lake Gaston is roughly 35 miles long and covers over 20,000 acres (80 km²), with 350 miles (560 km) of shoreline. The area surrounding the lake is home to more than 150,000 residents.
