Ellendale is a city in Dickey County, North Dakota in the United States. It is the county seat of Dickey County. The population was 1,394 at the 2010 census. Ellendale was founded in 1882. Ellendale is the home of Trinity Bible College, located on the former campus of the North Dakota State Normal and Industrial School and the Ellendale Opera House currently under renovation.

Trinity Bible College
Trinity Bible College (TBC) is a private college in Ellendale, North Dakota, affiliated with the Assemblies of God USA. The school was first founded in Devils Lake in 1948, but after several moves, settled in Ellendale in 1972 where it assumed ownership of the former campus of the North Dakota State Normal and Industrial School for a mere $1 and an agreement to upgrade the campus and facilities.

Maple River National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge in North Dakota. It is managed under Kulm Wetland Management District. Maple River National Wildlife Refuge was established by Executive Order 8162, signed on June 12, 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Refuge boundaries encompass 1,120 acres of private land. A system of management easements allows the District flood land within the river channel and to restrict hunting, trapping and other harassment of wildlife.

The legislature for the Dakota Territory authorized the formation of Dickey County in 1881, naming it for one of their members, George H. Dickey. An organizing meeting was held on August 28, 1882, at Ellendale.
