Maple River National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge in North Dakota. It is managed under Kulm Wetland Management District. Maple River National Wildlife Refuge was established by Executive Order 8162, signed on June 12, 1939 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The Refuge boundaries encompass 1,120 acres of private land. A system of management easements allows the District flood land within the river channel and to restrict hunting, trapping and other harassment of wildlife.

Guelph, North Dakota is an unincorporated area located in Dickey County in southeastern North Dakota. Founded in 1886 as a station for the Great Northern Railway, it was built close to the James River. The post office of the town was established on March 8, 1887, and its postmaster, Silas R. Dickey County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2010 census, the population was 5,289. Its county seat is Ellendale. The legislature for the Dakota Territory authorized the formation of Dickey County in 1881, naming it for one of their members, George H. Dickey. An organizing meeting was held on August 28, 1882, at Ellendale.
