Grano, North Dakota

Grano is a city in Renville County, North Dakota in the United States. The population was seven at the 2010 Census, tying Bergen as the second least populous incorporated place in North Dakota (Ruso was the least populous). Grano was founded in 1905 along the Soo Line Railroad branch line running east from Kenmare across the northern portion of North Dakota. Several unconfirmed explanations exist regarding how the town got its name. It is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area.

2007 United States Air Force nuclear weapons incident

The 2007 United States Air Force nuclear weapons incident occurred at Minot Air Force Base and Barksdale Air Force Base on August 29–30, 2007. Six AGM-129 ACM cruise missiles, each loaded with a W80-1 variable yield nuclear warhead, were mistakenly loaded on a United States Air Force (USAF) B-52H heavy bomber at Minot and transported to Barksdale. The nuclear warheads in the missiles were supposed to have been removed before taking the missiles from their storage bunker.
