Applegate Lake is a 988-acre reservoir located in the Rogue River – Siskiyou National Forest about 27 miles southwest of Medford in the U.S. state of Oregon. It is 16 miles south of Oregon Route 238 along Applegate River Road and slightly north of the Oregon–California border. The lake is an impoundment of the Applegate River about 46 miles from its confluence with the Rogue River.

Claire Hanley Arboretum
Claire Hanley Arboretum is an arboretum located on the grounds at the Oregon State University Extension and Research campus, 569 Hanley Road, Medford, Oregon. The arboretum was first planted in the 1960s by the Hanley sisters, with additional plantings since 1995. Mature trees include the dogwood Cornus mas, Davidia involucrata, and Oxydendrum arboreum. The aboretum land was once part of the Michael Hanley Farmstead.

Bear Creek Greenway
The Bear Creek Greenway is a 17.9-mile biking and hiking path extending from Ashland to Central Point in the U.S. state of Oregon. Passing through Talent, Phoenix, and Medford, it roughly parallels Bear Creek, a tributary of the Rogue River. The Greenway is divided into two lanes for bi-directional traffic and is inaccessible to motor vehicles (except for county maintenance).
