Christmas Valley, Oregon
Christmas Valley is an unincorporated community in Lake County, Oregon, United States. The community was named after nearby dry Christma(n)s Lake, east of the present townsite and the site of the former Lake post office, which ran from 1906 until 1943. Real estate development around a planned community by M. Penn Phillips, called Christmas Valley, started after World War II. Christmas Valley post office was established in 1963 as a rural station of Silver Lake.

The airport consists of a 60' (18m) wide runway with a segmented circle marked by white tires and a medium-intensity runway lighting system which allows 25 minutes for landing once an aircraft is on beam and activates the system. Pilot activates the Runway Edge Lights: RY 7/25 - Common Traffic Advisory Frequency (CTAF). Tie-downs are available but at this time there are no fuel or oxygen services onsite.

Crack in the Ground
Crack in the Ground is a volcanic fissure over two miles (3 km) long and up to 70 feet (21 m) deep in central Oregon, United States. The eruptions from the Four Craters Lava Field were accompanied by a slight sinking of the older rock surface, forming a shallow, graben-like structure about 3 kilometers wide and extending to the south into an old lake basin. Crack-in-the-Ground marks the western edge of this small, volcano-tectonic depression.

Portions of this article include public domain text from the USFS Deschutes & Ochoco National Forests - Crooked River National Grassland. Four Craters Lava Field is a basaltic volcanic field located south east of Newberry Caldera in the U.S. state of Oregon. The volcanic field covers about 30 square kilometers. Four Pleistocene cinder cones are the source of the flows in the field and are aligned along a fissure trending N 30° W.
