Azalea, Oregon

Azalea is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Oregon, United States, about 10 miles Northeast of Glendale on Interstate 5. Azalea was named for the abundance of azaleas in the area, including the Azalea occidentalis and the Azaleastrum albiflorum. The name Azalea was used for two different post offices in the upper Cow Creek Valley in Douglas County. A post office named "Starvout" was established in 1888. The name was changed to "Booth" in 1907 and to "Azalea" in 1914.

KOBI

KOBI is a local NBC affiliate based in Medford, Oregon. It is owned by Patricia Smullin. The company, California Oregon Broadcasting, Inc. , is the longest continuously independent broadcast group in the West and one of the three oldest in the country. The station also operates a satellite station in Klamath Falls, KOTI on channel 2, as well as a large network of translators. Together, the two stations serve 12 mostly rural counties in southern Oregon and northern California.

Southern Oregon Public Television

Southern Oregon Public Television is the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) member Public television for most of southwest Oregon. It operates KSYS, channel 8 in Medford and KFTS, digital channel 33 in Klamath Falls. In 1965, Oregon Educational Broadcasting, forerunner of Oregon Public Broadcasting, persuaded the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reassign channel 8 from Brookings to Medford.
