Scottsburg, Oregon
Scottsburg is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Oregon, United States. It is located on the Umpqua River and Oregon Route 38, and is about 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean. It was once a growing town but after a large flood in December 1861 the town declined. Scottsburg was named for pioneer Levi Scott.

Loon Lake (Oregon)
Loon Lake is a 294-acre lake located in Douglas County in the Oregon Coast Range of the United States,15 miles east-southeast of Reedsport, Oregon at an elevation of 392 feet . The lake is about two miles (3 km) long with a maximum width of about 0.4 mile (0.6 km), and is over 100 feet deep in some places. The lake is "a classic example of a landslide lake", dammed by a slide of sandstone blocks which fell into the Lake Creek valley about 1400 years ago.

Ash, Oregon
Ash is an unincorporated community in Douglas County, Oregon, United States, south of Loon Lake in the Southern Oregon Coast Range. The community is also referred to as Ash Valley. Ash had a post office established in 1894, named for the Ash trees in the area. The first postmaster, Charles L. Parker, suggested "Ash" when the Post Office Department requested a short name. The post office was closed in 1934. Ash Valley's economy is based primarily on logging and agriculture.

Elliott State Forest
Elliott State Forest is a state forest in the Oregon Coast Range in Coos and Douglas counties, between Coos Bay and Reedsport. The first state forest established in Oregon, it is named after the state's first state forester Francis Elliott. Trees commonly found in this forest are the Douglas-fir, Western Hemlock, Western Redcedar, Bigleaf Maple, and Red Alder.
