Thatcher, Oregon

Thatcher is an unincorporated historic locale in Washington County, Oregon, United States. It was located about three miles north of Forest Grove at the intersection of Hillside and Thatcher roads. The community was named after pioneers Harmon and Jemima Thatcher, who came from Indiana soon after their marriage in 1847, first settling in Yamhill County, and later taking up a Donation Land Claim in the area that now bears their name.

Pacific University

Pacific University is a private university located in Oregon, United States. The first campus began more than 160 years ago and is located about 38 km (23 mi) west of Portland in Forest Grove. Pacific University has four campuses within Oregon in the cities of Forest Grove, Portland, Eugene and Hillsboro. Established as Tualatin Academy in 1849, the school has an enrollment of nearly 3,200 students.

Oregon's 1st congressional district

Oregon's 1st congressional district consists of the northwest corner of Oregon. It includes Clatsop, Columbia, Washington, and Yamhill counties, and a portion of southwest Multnomah County in Portland. The district has been represented by Democrat Suzanne Bonamici since 2012. Bonamici won a special election to replace David Wu, who resigned in the wake of accusations of sexual misconduct.
