Pocotaligo is an unincorporated community located in northeastern Jasper County, South Carolina, close to the border of Beaufort County. The community takes its name from the Pocotaligo River, a small tidal creek that separates Jasper and Beaufort counties. Although historically significant, Pocotaligo today primarily serves as a junction point between U.S. Highway 17, U.S. Highway 17 Alternate and U.S. Highway 21.

The Broad River is a tidal channel, in Beaufort and Jasper County, South Carolina. The channel flows between mainland on the west and Port Royal and Parris Islands on the east. The Coosawhatchie River flows into the Broad River at the head. It joins Coosaw River channel Northeast and continues Southeast to Atlantic Ocean as Port Royal Sound. S.C. Highway 170 crosses the Broad River on a 1.7-mile bridge, connected Beaufort and Port Royal with southern Beaufort and Jasper counties.

The Coosawhatchie River (koos-uh-HATCH-ee) is a river in the U.S. state of South Carolina. It rises in Allendale County near the towns of Allendale and Fairfax and accepts drainage from Swallow Savanna, Harters Pond, Little Duck Branch, Duck Branch, Beech Branch (LevyBay), Blood Hill Creek, and Cedar Branch. The channel flows southeast to the Broad River. It is 50 mi/80 km long.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School or RHHS is a public high school within the Jasper County School District, located in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The high school serves students in all of Jasper County and takes its name after the two major communities in the county, Ridgeland and Hardeeville. The school was formed in 2012 following the consolidation of Hardeeville High School and Ridgeland High School as part of the JCSD's overall reorganization of schools.
