Ridgeland is a town in Jasper County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 4,036 at the 2010 census, a 60% increase from 2000. It has been the county seat of Jasper County since its formation in 1912. As defined by the U.S. Census Bureau, Ridgeland is included within the Hilton Head Island-Bluffton-Beaufort Metropolitan Statistical Area. Ridgeland is home the Ridgeland Correctional Institution, a medium security prison with the South Carolina Department of Corrections.

Ridgeland Airport
Ridgeland Airport is a county-owned public-use airport in Jasper County, South Carolina, United States. The airport is located one nautical mile (2 km) northwest of downtown Ridgeland. It is also known as Jasper County Airport as it serves the entirety of Jasper County. The airport began operations in 1943 as a private airfield for aviation enthusiasts and received state funding in 1960 to construct a paved runway.

Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School
Ridgeland-Hardeeville High School or RHHS is a public high school within the Jasper County School District, located in Ridgeland, South Carolina. The high school serves students in all of Jasper County and takes its name after the two major communities in the county, Ridgeland and Hardeeville. The school was formed in 2012 following the consolidation of Hardeeville High School and Ridgeland High School as part of the JCSD's overall reorganization of schools.

Battle of Honey Hill
The Battle of Honey Hill was the third battle of Sherman's March to the Sea, fought November 30, 1864, during the American Civil War. It did not involve Major General William T. Sherman's main force, marching from Atlanta, Georgia, to Savannah, but was a failed Union Army expedition under Maj. Gen. John P. Hatch that attempted to cut off the Charleston and Savannah Railroad in support of Sherman's projected arrival in Savannah.
