South Aiken High School

South Aiken High School is a four-year public high school located in Aiken, South Carolina. Approximately 1,500 students attend the school. South Aiken High School's mascot is the Thoroughbred. In the 2012 edition of the top high schools in the U.S. , South Aiken ranked 1,079 in the nation and 7th in the state. Nationally acclaimed programs at South Aiken High School include the academic team, NJROTC, Calliope (literary magazine), and the SAHS chapter of the National FFA Organization.

Aiken, South Carolina

Aiken is a city in and the county seat of Aiken County, South Carolina, United States. With Augusta, Georgia, it is one of the two largest cities of the Central Savannah River Area. It is part of the Augusta-Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area. Aiken is home to the University of South Carolina at Aiken. The population was 29,494 at the 2010 census. Aiken was recognized with the All-America City Award in 1997 by the National Civic League.

St. Mary Help of Christians Church (Aiken, South Carolina)

St. Mary Help of Christians Church is a Catholic parish at the corner of Park Avenue and York Street in Aiken, South Carolina. The complex, which includes St. Claire's Chapel and St. Mary Help of Christians Church, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The original parish church was constructed on this site in 1867. This small building was destroyed by a tornado in 1878. A winter resident of Aiken, Celestine E.
