Nutbush, Tennessee

Nutbush is an unincorporated rural community in Haywood County, Tennessee, in the western part of the state. Established in the early 19th century, Nutbush is home to two early American churches founded by white settlers, Woodlawn Baptist Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. More than 50 Civil War soldiers are buried in Trinity Cemetery. Agriculture is the dominant source of income in the area, focused on the cultivation and processing of cotton.

Trinity United Methodist Church (Nutbush, Tennessee)

Trinity United Methodist Church in Nutbush, Haywood County, Tennessee was founded in 1822. The church is located south of Tennessee State Route 19, a part of which was named "Tina Turner Highway" in 2002 in honor of singer Tina Turner who spent her childhood in Nutbush.

Durhamville, Tennessee

Durhamville is a rural unincorporated community in Lauderdale County, Tennessee. Durhamville is the second oldest town in Lauderdale County. It was founded by Colonel Thomas Durham in 1829 or 1830. Thomas Durham owned a store in the town since 1826. Blues guitarist Sleepy John Estes is buried at Elam Baptist Church Cemetery in Durhamville.
