Alexander, Texas

Alexander is an unincorporated community located in southern Erath County in Central Texas. Alexander is in the southern part of the county along Texas State Highway 6 and Fm-914. The town was originally called: "Harper's Mill" when the Post Office was approved for operation around the 1870s.

Clairette, Texas

Clairette is an unincorporated community located in Erath County in Central Texas. Clairette is situated in the southern part of the county along Texas State Highway 6 and the Bosque River 5 miles northwest of Hico, and 16 miles to the east of Dublin. Clairette was founded during the 1880s when the Texas Central line part of the historic Katy Railroad was constructed through the townsite on its way from the Waco area to Stamford with a branch to Cross Plains from the line at De Leon.

Hico, Texas

Hico (pronounced "high-coe") is a small town located in Hamilton County in Central Texas. The population was 1,379 at the 2010 census. The town motto is "Where Everybody Is Somebody!" Hico was named by its founder for his unincorporated hometown in Calloway County in southwestern Kentucky near Murray, just north of the Tennessee state boundary.

Purves, Texas

Purves is an unincorporated community in Erath County, Texas, United States. Purves is located in the southwestern part of the county, along Fm-219 South, seven miles south of the City of Dublin. The community was named for two local men named Purves who started the Post Office and a church in the community around the 1890s. Around 1900 the population had peaked at 117 residents. In 1907 the Purves Post Office was closed after only around 10 years of services.
