Weches is an unincorporated area in Houston County, Texas, United States. It is located along the route of the Old San Antonio Road near the Neches River, about twenty-one miles northeast of Crockett. The population was 26 according to the 2000 census.

Augusta, Texas

Augusta is an unincorporated community in Houston County, Texas, about 16 miles from Crockett. The town was named after Augusta Smith, who was the daughter of a pioneer settler. The town was settled before 1860 as a trading point for the area. A school was established in 1860 and was named the "Augusta Male and Female Academy". By 1865, the settlement had a church, cotton gins, corn mills, three stores, and an estimated population of 200.
