Scurry County, Texas

Scurry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2010 census, its population was 16,921. Its county seat is Snyder. Scurry County was one of forty-six prohibition, or entirely dry, counties in the state of Texas, until a 2006 election approved the sale of beer and wine in Snyder, and a 2008 election approved the sale of liquor by the drink throughout the county.

KSNY (AM)

KSNY (1450 AM, "Life 1450") is the first radio station to air in Snyder, Texas. Before the advent of FM as a mainstream medium, KSNY adopted a block format, meaning different formats at different times of the day. In the 1970s, KSNY started the day with News and Talk, then in the mornings played Country Music; in the afternoons Adult Contemporary and at night Top 40 formats.
