Texas and Northern Railway

The Texas and Northern Railway is an eight-mile (13 km) railroad connecting Lone Star, Texas, to the former Louisiana and Arkansas Railway, now a line of the Kansas City Southern Railway, between Daingerfield and Hughes Springs. When it started operations in 1948 to serve the Lone Star Steel Company, of which it is a wholly owned subsidiary, the revenue cutoff for a Class I railroad was $1 million, and the Texas and Northern made just more than that per year.

Camp County, Texas

Camp County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas that was founded in 1874. As of the 2010 census, its population was 12,401. It is named for John Lafayette Camp, a Texas politician. Its seat is Pittsburg. Camp County is represented in the Texas House of Representatives by the Republican Bryan Hughes, a lawyer in Mineola.
