In 1930, it had a church, a store, and a number of houses. After World War II, many residents moved away, but a store, church, and a number of houses remained. By the 1990s, it was a dispersed community, although a Church remains.

Prairie Point is a ghost town in Houston County, Texas, United States. It is located on FM 230. It was established around 1850. A post office was there from 1857–1872. A school was established before 1897, when it had an enrollment of 57. In the 1930s Prairie Point had a church, school, and a number of houses. After World War II, the School consolidated with Lovelady. There are no recent population estimates.
