Loraine is a town in Mitchell County, Texas, United States. The population was 656 at the 2000 census. George H. Mahon (1900–1985), a former county attorney, district attorney, and U.S. representative from the Lubbock-based congressional district is interred at Loraine City Cemetery. alongside his wife, Helen Mahon.
