Henderson, Texas

Henderson is a city in Rusk County, Texas, United States. The population was 13,712 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Rusk County. Henderson is named for James Pinckney Henderson, the first governor of Texas. The city has functioned as a major crossroads in Northeast Texas over the last two centuries, with several major highways passing through the business district of the town, including Texas State Highway 64, U.S.

Rusk County, Texas

Rusk County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. Originally a part of Nacogdoches County, Rusk was established as its own county by the Congress of the Republic of Texas on January 16, 1843. By 1850, it was the second most populous county in Texas out of the 78 counties that had been organized at that time, according to the 1850 census. Rusk County's population was 8,148 at this time; it was surpassed only by Harrison County with 11,822 people.

Rusk County Airport (Texas)

Rusk County Airport is a county-owned public-use airport in Rusk County, Texas, United States. It is located three nautical miles west of the central business district of Henderson, Texas. The current airport manager is David Dumas, who took over in October, 2011. Although many U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, this facility is assigned RFI by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA.
