Speegleville is an unincorporated community located in McLennan County in Central Texas. Speegleville is a Suburb in the Waco Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community is located along Texas State Highway 6 around 8 miles to the west of the City of Waco on the western edge of Lake Waco. The population of Speegleville was 111 at the time of the 2000 Census. As of 2010 Speegleville continued to maintain a volunteer fire department, elementary school, and 3 churches.

Lake Waco is a reservoir located within the city limits of Waco, in McLennan County, Texas, which serves as the western border for the city of Waco. The dam is located on the Bosque River. The lake has 79,000 acre feet of water and is currently run by the Army Corps of Engineers. Lake Waco was raised about 8 feet (2 m) in 2005. This has helped with fishing.

Rich Field
Rich Field is a former World War I military airfield, located in Waco, Texas, near what is now the intersection of Bosque Blvd and 41st street. It operated as a training field for the Air Service, United States Army between 1917 until 1919. The airfield was one of thirty-two Air Service training camps established in 1917 after the United States entry into World War I. It was named in honor of 2nd Lt. C. Perry Rich of the Philippine Scouts.
