Peeltown, Texas

Peeltown is a small rural community of 120- 150 people, located off Farm Road 3094 & 4072. Peeltown is approximately thirteen miles (19 km) southwest of Kaufman and one mile (1.6 km) east of the Trinity River in southwestern Kaufman County, Texas. Peeltown was named for landowner Monroe Peel, of the Peel family, who arrived from Mississippi and settled in the area in the 1860s. The last known descendent of Monroe Peel is Melissa Young, who lives in Peeltown.
