Big Lake, Texas

Big Lake is a small rural city in Reagan County, Texas, United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 2,885. It is the county seat of Reagan County. The city takes its name from a dry lake, a unique dryland plains geographic feature situated atop the divide between the Rio Grande and Colorado River watersheds, located less than two miles south of the city, through which St Hwy 137 passes.

KWTR (defunct)

KWTR (104.1 FM, "West Texas Radio") was an American radio station licensed to serve the community of Big Lake, Texas, USA. Established in 2001, the station's broadcast license was held throughout its 10-year existence by Woodrow Michael Warren. Before going dark for the final time, KWTR broadcast a country music format.

Big Lake (Texas)

Big Lake is an intermittent dry lake located one-mile (1.6 km) south and southwest of the city of Big Lake in Reagan County, Texas. Covering approximately 1,300 acres, the playa lies in a floodplain and is fed primarily by Big Lake Draw and a number of other, unnamed smaller draws. Scrub brush, mesquite, juniper, grasses, and water-tolerant hardwoods grow around the lake.

Barnhart, Texas

Barnhart is an unincorporated community in Irion County, Texas, United States. It was founded by Willam A. Barnhart in 1910, when the Kansas City, Mexico and Orient Railway was constructed through the area. A post office opened in Barnhart in 1912, and a school operated in the community from 1912 to 1969. As of 2000, Barnhart's population was 160. The Irion County Independent School District serves area students.
