Fish Lake National Forest

Fish Lake National Forest was established as the Fish Lake Forest Reserve by the General Land Office in Utah on February 10, 1899 with 67,840 acres . After the transfer of federal forests to the U.S. Forest Service in 1905, it became a National Forest on March 4, 1907. On July 1, 1908 Glenwood National Forest was added and the name was changed to Fishlake National Forest.

Robert D. Young

Robert Dixon Young (July 24, 1867 – June 12, 1962) was a leader in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Young was born in Kirkintilloch, Dunbartonshire, Scotland. In 1872 he immigrated to the United States with his parents, who as Latter-day Saints wanted to join with the body of the Church. They lived in Salt Lake City for about a year and then moved to Richfield, Utah. In 1891 Young was ordained a seventy by Francis M. Lyman. That same year he married Mary S. Parker.

Carlos E. Asay

Carlos Egan Asay (June 12, 1926 – April 10, 1999) was a general authority of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) from 1976 until his death. Asay was born in Sutherland, Utah, and raised in Monroe, Utah. In 1947, just prior to leaving on his mission, Asay married Colleen Webb, largely due to the encouragement of Don B. Colton, who was at that time president of the Salt Lake Mission Home.
