Vernal Middle School

Vernal Middle School is a middle school located in Vernal, Utah and educates sixth and seventh grade students from Uintah School District. Uintah School District serves the students of Uintah County, Utah. Vernal Middle School has been completely remodeled at a cost of approximately thirty million dollars. The bid for a completely new structure was 25 million, five million less than the remodeling. During the remodeling, students were taken by bus to nearby schools.

KVEL is a radio station broadcasting a mix of oldies, news, talk and sports. Licensed to Vernal, Utah, USA, the station is currently owned by Ashley Communications, Inc. Steinaker State Park

Steinaker State Park is a state park and reservoir of Utah, USA, located 7 miles north of Vernal in Uintah County, Utah. Steinaker State Park opened to the public in 1964. It lies at an elevation of 5,500 feet in northeastern Utah, south of the Uinta Mountains. The climate is arid with hot summers and cold winters. Plant life at the park includes juniper, cacti, and sagebrush. Wildlife includes badgers, bobcats, coyotes, deer, and rabbits.

Deseret Power Railroad

The Deseret Power Railroad, formerly known as the Deseret-Western Railway, is a private railroad operating in northeastern Utah and northwestern Colorado. It is owned by the Deseret Generation & Transmission Co-operative, and exists to transport coal from the co-operative's Deserado Coal Mine to their Bonanza Power Plant. The length of the railway is about 35 miles. The railroad is electrified, using an overhead catenary system energized at 50 kV 60 Hz AC to supply power to its locomotives.
