The Center for Northern Studies

The Center for Northern Studies in Wolcott in the U.S. state of Vermont is an interdisciplinary environmental study center which is part of Sterling College in Craftsbury Common, Vermont. The Center supports the study of the cultures and environments of the Circumpolar North, including the peoples of Arctic Canada, Siberia, Alaska, and Scandinavia. The organization was founded in 1971, and in 2003 merged with Sterling College.

The station, launched in 2011, is owned by Goddard College and the broadcast license is held by the Goddard College Corporation. Hyde Park is a town in and the shire town of Lamoille County, Vermont, United States. The town was named for Captain Jedediah Hyde, a landowner. The population was 2,847 at the 2000 census. There is also a village within the town by the same name.

Lake Elmore

Lake Elmore is a 219-acre lake located in and named after Elmore, Vermont. The lake is located northwest of Elmore, and it drains into the Lamoille River through Elmore Pond Brook at the northern end. Recently, the lake has had a problem with milfoil, and there are several fundraisers every year to help the Milfoil Foundation, which then uses the money to pay for the milfoil's extraction.
