East Barre Dam

East Barre Dam (National ID # VT00053) is a dam in East Barre, Washington County, Vermont. The earthen dam was constructed between 1933 and 1935 under the supervision of the North Atlantic Division of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with a height of 65 feet and 1460 feet long at its crest. The dam is a seasonal flood control structure to impound the Jail Branch River, a tributary of the Winooski River.

Jail Branch River

The Jail Branch River is a river in central Vermont. It is a tributary of the Stevens Branch of the Winooski River and part of the Lake Champlain watershed. The Jail Branch is a 16-mile-long river that rises in Washington, Vermont, and flows north into Orange, where it comes under the influence of the state of Vermont's East Barre Dam. Orange Brook and its tributaries Baker Brook, Nelson Brook, and Nate Smith Brook enter the Jail Branch before it flows into Barre.

Robbins Nest Covered Bridge

The Robbins Nest Covered Bridge is a covered bridge that crosses the Jail Branch of the Winooski River off US Route 302 in Barre, Vermont. The bridge is of queen post design built by Robert R. Robbins. Even though not historic, the bridge was built as a replica to one that stood just downstream and was swept away in the Vermont Flood of 1927, and is of authentic design and construction.

WWFY (100.9 FM, "Froggy 100.9") is a radio station licensed to serve Berlin, Vermont. The station is owned by Jeffrey Shapiro's Vertical Capital Partners, LP. It airs a country music format. The station has been assigned these call letters by the Federal Communications Commission since May 21, 1999. While WWFY "Froggy 100.9" is relatively new to the Barre Montpelier area, with its debut in early 2001.
