Jail Branch River
The Jail Branch River is a river in central Vermont. It is a tributary of the Stevens Branch of the Winooski River and part of the Lake Champlain watershed. The Jail Branch is a 16-mile-long river that rises in Washington, Vermont, and flows north into Orange, where it comes under the influence of the state of Vermont's East Barre Dam. Orange Brook and its tributaries Baker Brook, Nelson Brook, and Nate Smith Brook enter the Jail Branch before it flows into Barre.

East Barre Dam
East Barre Dam (National ID # VT00053) is a dam in East Barre, Washington County, Vermont. The earthen dam was constructed between 1933 and 1935 under the supervision of the North Atlantic Division of the United States Army Corps of Engineers, with a height of 65 feet and 1460 feet long at its crest. The dam is a seasonal flood control structure to impound the Jail Branch River, a tributary of the Winooski River.
