The Grand Isle Senate District is one of 13 Vermont Senate districts included in the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. Battle of Plattsburgh

The Battle of Plattsburgh, also known as the Battle of Lake Champlain, ended the final invasion of the northern states of the United States during the War of 1812. A British army under Lieutenant General Sir George Prévost and a naval squadron under Captain George Downie converged on the lakeside town of Plattsburgh, which was defended by American troops under Brigadier General Alexander Macomb and ships commanded by Master Commandant Thomas Macdonough.

Cumberland Head Light

Cumberland Head Light is a lighthouse on Lake Champlain's Cumberland Bay in New York state. The lighthouse was established in 1838 and the tower was first lit in 1868. The lighthouse was deactivated in 1934. The foundation of the lighthouse is concrete and limestone and the lighthouse itself is made out of limestone. The shape of the tower is conical. The original lens was a fourth order Fresnel lens installed in 1856.
