Enon is a census-designated place (CDP) in Chesterfield County, Virginia, United States, just east of Chester. The population as of the 2010 Census was 3,466. It has the zip code 23836 and GPS coordinates 37.3504000, -77.3254000. It is located near the intersection of East Hundred Road (State Route 10 and I-295 just south of the Varina-Enon Bridge. It has been largely undeveloped until the development of the River's Bend Golf Course and residential development.

Bermuda Hundred Campaign

The Bermuda Hundred Campaign was a series of battles fought at the town of Bermuda Hundred, outside Richmond, Virginia, during May 1864 in the American Civil War. Union Maj. Gen. Benjamin Butler, commanding the Army of the James, threatened Richmond from the east but was stopped by forces under Confederate Gen. P.G.T. Beauregard.

Varina, Virginia

Varina is a former unincorporated town and current magisterial district in the easternmost portion of Henrico County, Virginia, United States. Varina was named for Varina Farms, a plantation established by John Rolfe on the James River about 45 miles upstream from the first settlement at Jamestown in the Virginia Colony, and across the river from Sir Thomas Dale's 1611 settlement at Henricus.

Varina-Enon Bridge

Varina-Enon Bridge carries Interstate 295 across the James River near Dutch Gap between Henrico County near Richmond and Chesterfield County near Hopewell, Virginia. It was opened to traffic in July 1990. The Varina-Enon Bridge has six lanes (three lanes each way) with full right and left shoulders, and is a cable-stayed bridge with 150 feet (46 m) of vertical navigational clearance and 630 feet (192 m) of horizontal navigational clearance.

Dutch Gap

Dutch Gap is located on the James River in Chesterfield County, Virginia near the site of the lost 17th-century city of Henricus. In 1611, Sir Thomas Dale, according to a method he had learned while campaigning in Holland, cut a ditch across a portion of land behind town. It became known as "Dale's Dutch Gap".
