Stewarts Creek Wildlife Management Area
Stewarts Creek Wildlife Management Area is a protected area located in Carroll County, Virginia. It lies along the Blue Ridge Mountains, and its 1,087 acres encompass the headwaters of both the North and South Forks of the eponymous waterway. Much of the terrain is rugged and steep; its lowest elevation is 1,580 feet above sea level, while the highest is at 2,955 feet, near the Blue Ridge Parkway. Five sections of streams totalling 4.8 miles may be found within the area's boundaries.

Blue Ridge Music Center
The Blue Ridge Music Center is part of the Blue Ridge Parkway system and is located at Milepost 213 near Galax, Virginia. The center celebrates the history and performance of old time mountain music of Virginia and North Carolina and is largely concerned with local artists who best show this history, and not with "stars". Each summer it has a schedule of events related to a concert series. The center was planned when the town of Galax gave 1,000 acres for its development.
