McMicken Island State Park

McMicken Island State Park in Mason County, Washington is a Washington State Park accessible only by boat. It consists of the 11.5 acres of forested McMicken Island in south Puget Sound, including 1,661 feet of saltwater shoreline with a sheltered cove. Available activities include hiking, boating, clamming, and crabbing. At low tide, a sand bar connects McMicken Island to Harstine Island. The park is administered as a satellite of Jarrell Cove State Park.

Harstine Island, Washington

Harstine Island (also known simply as Harstine or Harstene) is an island in Mason County, Washington, United States. The US Census recognizes it as an unincorporated community. The island is located west of Case Inlet in southern Puget Sound, 16 km north of Olympia. It has a land area of 48.305 km, and had a population of 1,002 as of the 2000 census. Pickering Passage, to the northwest, separates the island from mainland, while Case Inlet, to the east, separates it from Key Peninsula.

Herron Island

Herron Island is an island in central Case Inlet in the southern part of Puget Sound in the state of Washington, USA. The Pierce County island has a land area of 1.2326 km² and a population of 152 persons as of the 2000 census. Herron Island is one of the few privately owned islands in Puget Sound. All access to the island is by boat, mostly aboard the HMC ferry, the "Charlie Wells", and a guest pass signed by an HMC member is necessary to board the ferry.

Case Inlet

Case Inlet, in southern Puget Sound in the U.S. state of Washington, is an arm of water between Key Peninsula on the east and Hartstine Island on the west. Its northern end, called North Bay, reaches nearly to Hood Canal, creating the defining isthmus of Kitsap Peninsula. Case Inlet is the boundary between Pierce County and Mason County. The southern end of Case Inlet is connected to Nisqually Reach, part of the southern basin of Puget Sound. Herron Island lies in Case Inlet.
