Martin Garcia Island Airport (Spanish: Aeropuerto de la Isla Martín García) is the airport of Isla Martín García, a small Argentine island at the head of the Río de la Plata estuary, near the coast of Uruguay. It features a small passenger terminal and a single long asphalt runway. Daily traffic consists of general aviation private and commercial (tourism) flights, especially on weekends.

Martín García Island

Martín García Island (Spanish: Isla Martín García) is an Argentine island off the Río de la Plata coast of Uruguay. The Argentine exclave island is within the boundaries of Uruguayan waters; in 1973 both countries reached an agreement establishing Martín García as an Argentine territory and also as a nature reserve. The island of 1.84 km has a permanent population of about 150 people (50 families), and falls within the jurisdiction of Buenos Aires Province.

Battle of Martín García (1814)

The Battle of Martín García was fought from 10 to 15 March 1814 between the forces of the United Provinces of the Río de la Plata under the command of then-Lieutenant Colonel Guillermo Brown, and the royalist forces commanded by frigate captain Jacinto de Romarate, defending the region.

Juncal Island

Juncal Island is an island belonging to Uruguay, located where the Uruguay River empties into the Rio de la Plata, a bit above the Uruguayan town of Carmelo. It is separated from Uruguay by the Canal (channel or straight) de Camacho. The much smaller Juncalito Island lies a kilometer north; to the west, separated by the principal channel, lies Portuguese Island (Isla del Portugues), which belongs to the Argentine province of Entre Rios.
