Estadio Suppici

Estadio Suppici is a multi-use stadium in Colonia, Uruguay. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium holds 12,000 people. The stadiums is named after Alberto Suppici, coach of Uruguay national football team during the 1930 World Cup. It is the home stadium of Plaza Colonia and hosted matches during the 2003 South American Youth Championship.

Plaza de toros Real de San Carlos

Plaza de toros Real de San Carlos is a bull ring in Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay. It is currently a derelict building that is crumbling down. It is forbidden for safety reasons to access the bull ring. When in operation it could host 10,000 spectators. It is designed in typically Moorish style. It officially opened on January 9, 1910 Featuring the most famous Bullfighters of the time, Ricardo Torres (aka Bombita Grande) and his brother Manuel (aka Bombita Chico) from Spain.

1888 Río de la Plata earthquake

The 1888 Río de la Plata earthquake occurred on June 5, 1888, measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, and shook the upper Río de la Plata at 3:20 UTC-3. The epicentre was located 15 kilometres southwest of Colonia del Sacramento and 42 kilometres east of Buenos Aires, with a hypocentre at a depth of 30 kilometres .
