Macuro
Macuro, a town in Venezuela, located a few miles from Bocas del Dragón, is a small fishing town overlooking a peaceful bay on the south-west side of the Paria peninsula, in Sucre state, Venezuela. Macuro has the historical distinction of being the only part of the American continent visited by Christopher Columbus. Columbus and his men spent a few days interacting with the natives. This took place in August 1498 during Columbus' third expedition to the Americas.

The international border between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela runs through this strait. The Boca de Navios which separates Chacachacare from Huevos. The Boca de Huevos which separates Huevos from Monos.

Chacachacare
Chacachacare is an abandoned island in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago located at 10° 41' north latitude and 61° 45' west longitude. The island is 3.642 km² in area. It is one of the "Bocas Islands", which lie in the Bocas del Dragón (Dragons' Mouth) between Trinidad and Venezuela. Chacachacare in the westernmost of the Bocas Islands which belong to Trinidad and Tobago. Patos Island, which lies further west, was part of Trinidad and Tobago until 1942 when it was ceded to Venezuela.
