Qarabagh District, Ghazni

Qarabagh (Qarah Bagh) district is located 56 km to the south west of Ghazni in eastern Afghanistan. The 1,800 km² area is one of the most populated at 109,000; some reports count more than 200,000. There are three ethnic groups - Pashtun about 54%, Sayed about 2% and Hazara about 44%. The landscape varies in different parts of the district - deserts in the southwest, plains in the southeast and mountains in the north.

Zarghun Shar District

Zarghun Shar District (Pashto: زرغون ښار ولسوالۍ&#8206), also spelled Zarghun Shahr, and also known as Katawaz District or Khayr Kot District, is a district of Paktika Province, Afghanistan. The district capital is Zarghun Shar town. As of 1998, the district had an estimated population of over 75,000. However, by June 2004 the post-Taliban government separated off three new districts from the large Zarghun Shahr District.

Zarghun Shar, Paktika

Zarghun Shar, or Zarghun Shahr, Katawaz, or Khayr Kot, is a town in and administrative seat of Zarghun Shar District, Paktika Province, in eastern Afghanistan. In the 1970s Zarghun Shar was a town of some 5,000 people, but that population decreased during the years of fighting after the Soviet invasion and the Afghan civil war.
