The District of Shkodër is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania, part of Shkodër County. It has a population of 185,646 (2010 estimate), and an area of 1,973 km². It is in the north of the country, and its capital is Shkodër.

Shurdhah Island

Shurdhah Island (Albanian: Ishulli i Shurdhahit) is an island in northern Albania. Shurdhah Island is located in the Vau i Dejës Reservoir, which is fed and drained by the river Drin. It is the largest island in the reservoir with an area of 7.5 hectares. From the most northern tip of the island to the most southern tip of it, it has an estimated length of 390 m . It is mainly covered by trees. It is accessible by tourist boat in summer from the Vau i Dejës dam or Rragam.

Renc

Renc is a village in the municipality Guri i Zi, northern Albania. It is located 1.5 km east from the city of Shkodër and consists of 860 inhabitants and 236 houses. The village name comes from the place (rrenx malit) where it was settled 1396. Rrenc has 2 Deshmoret nations which still exist to this day. Lapidari marble with their names, (Kole Rrok Matthias and Simon) who both have ren on duty like any other martyr Albanian.

Mes Bridge

Mes Bridge (Albanian: Ura e Mesit "bridge in the middle") is a bridge in the village of Mes, about five kilometres (straight line) northeast of Shkodër, in northwestern Albania. It was built in the 18th century, around 1780, by Kara Mahmud Bushati, the local Ottoman pasha, and it spans the Kir River. It is 108 m long, and represent one of the longest Ottoman bridges in the region. It was built as part of the road that goes up the Kir Valley, eventually to Pristina.

Kratul

Kratul was an Illyrian settlement and fortification located in the territories of the Illyrian tribe of Labeates. The archaeological material indicates that life at the settlement was active from the early Iron Age (beginning of 1st millennium BC) until the 1st century AD.
