Shurdhah Island

Shurdhah Island (Albanian: Ishulli i Shurdhahit) is an island in northern Albania. Shurdhah Island is located in the Vau i Dejës Reservoir, which is fed and drained by the river Drin. It is the largest island in the reservoir with an area of 7.5 hectares. From the most northern tip of the island to the most southern tip of it, it has an estimated length of 390 m . It is mainly covered by trees. It is accessible by tourist boat in summer from the Vau i Dejës dam or Rragam.

Shkodër District

The District of Shkodër is one of the thirty-six districts of Albania, part of Shkodër County. It has a population of 185,646 (2010 estimate), and an area of 1,973 km². It is in the north of the country, and its capital is Shkodër.

Urë e Shtrenjtë

Urë e Shtrenjtë is a small village in the valley of the river Kir in northern Albania. It is part of the municipality of Postribë, in Shkodër District. It is a very small and poor community making a basic living off the land. The farmers produce a variety of crops, from corn and beans, to raising livestock. Supported by Oxfam, the farmers have also expanded in honey production. The honey is very aromatic, as its source as a mixture of wild chestnut, sage and thyme pollen.

The capital of the county of Shkodër is the city of Shkodër. Mes Bridge

Mes Bridge (Albanian: Ura e Mesit "bridge in the middle") is a bridge in the village of Mes, about five kilometres (straight line) northeast of Shkodër, in northwestern Albania. It was built in the 18th century, around 1780, by Kara Mahmud Bushati, the local Ottoman pasha, and it spans the Kir River. It is 108 m long, and represent one of the longest Ottoman bridges in the region. It was built as part of the road that goes up the Kir Valley, eventually to Pristina.
