Shaqari Island

Shaqari Island (Albanian: Ishulli i Shaqarisë) is a small islet found in northern Albania in Lake Scutari. It is very small and is situated just opposite the village of Shiroka which strandels the largest lake in the Balkans. The island is connected to Shiroka by a bridge and there is a building built on the island.

Siege of Shkodra

The Siege of Shkodra of 1478-79 was a confrontation between the Ottoman Empire and the Albanians and Venetians at Shkodra and its Rozafa Castle during the First Ottoman-Venetian War (1463–79). Ottoman historian Franz Babinger called the siege “one of the most remarkable episodes in the struggle between the West and the Crescent.

The Siege of Shkodra of 1474 was an Ottoman attack upon Venetian-controlled Shkodra in Albania Veneta during the First Ottoman-Venetian War (1463–79).

Shkodër Cathedral

Shkodër Cathedral (Albanian: Katedralja e Shkodrës), also known as St Stephen's Catholic Cathedral or Kisha e Madhe (the Great Church) is a cathedral in the city of Shkodër in northwestern Albania. The Roman Catholic cathedral is dedicated to Saint Stephen. During the Siege of Scutari (1912–1913) the cathedral was damaged by the Montenegrin army, particularly the south east side, causing fire in the bell tower. The Cathedral was closed in 1967 and reopened in 1990.
