Poloa, American Samoa

Poloa is a village in American Samoa. It is located at the west side of Tutuila in the Alataua District. The village has approximately 300 citizens. The main denominations in the area are Methodist and Christian. Poloa has one elementary school. According to history, Poloa was one of the poorest village in Samoa. Since American culture was introduced, many Poloa villagers worked at shipyards of Germans and Americans. Poloa is the western terminus of American Samoa Highway 001.

Western District, American Samoa

The Western District is one of the primary divisions of American Samoa. It consists of the western portion of Tutuila Island. It has a land area of 74.781 km² (28.873 sq mi) and contains 29 villages plus a part of Nu'uuli village. Among these is the largest village of American Samoa, Tafuna, at its eastern end. The district's total population as of the 2000 census was 32,435.

WVUV (AM)

WVUV was a radio station licensed to serve the community of Leone, American Samoa. The station, established in 1942, was owned and operated by South Seas Broadcasting, Inc. , when its broadcast license was cancelled in 2011. WVUV was a sister station to NBC TV station KKHJ-LP, which went by the WVUV-LP callsign until 2008.

KJAL

KJAL is a radio station broadcasting a Religious radio format. Licensed to Tafuna, American Samoa, it serves the American Samoa area. The station is currently owned by Asia Pacific Media Ministries and licensed to the District Council of the Assemblies of God in American Samoa. The station signed on in 2002 as WDJD but was forced by the FCC to change to a "K" callsign to conform with most other US-licensed radio stations located in the Pacific.
