Howlong
Howlong is a town 28 kilometres west of Albury, and is situated on the Murray River which separates the Australian states of New South Wales and Victoria. The town is located on the Riverina Highway. There is a bridge across the Murray into Victoria. Howlong is in the Corowa Shire local government area. At the 2006 census, Howlong had a population of 2,111 people.

Barnawartha, Victoria
Barnawartha is a small town located on the Hume Highway in regional north-east Victoria, Australia, approximately 299 kilometres from Melbourne on the banks of Indigo Creek which runs into the Murray River to the north. Gustav and William Baumgarten were large land owners in Barnawartha prior to the township being settled. After serving prison time for supplying horses to the infamous Ned Kelly, William developed a large winery called Bogong, on the Murray River.

Barnawartha is a closed station located in the town of Barnawartha, on the North East railway in Victoria, Australia. The station building and platform are on the eastern side of the broad gauge line, with a goods shed located opposite. The standard gauge main line runs the platform. The station opened with the line in 1873 with a temporary passenger shelter and a large brick goods shed.
