Glengarry railway station

Glengarry is a closed station located in the town of Glengarry, on the Maffra railway line railway line in Victoria, Australia. It opened in 1883 with the construction of the line from Traralgon to Heyfield and was 167 km from Southern Cross station. The station was first named La Trobe but was renamed Glengarry shortly after opening. A post office operated at the station from 1 January 1884.

Latrobe River

The La Trobe River is a river in Gippsland, Victoria, Australia. It begins in the area between Powelltown and Noojee where it shares a watershed with the Little Yarra River, a tributary of the Yarra River, and has a number of tributaries joining it from the southern slopes of the Baw Baw plateau, part of the Australian Alps. It first flows in an easterly direction, then south, and then east again through the Latrobe Valley into Lake Wellington, one of the Gippsland Lakes.

Traralgon is a city located in the east of the Latrobe Valley in the Gippsland region of Victoria, Australia. At the 2006 census, the population of the urban area was 21,960. It is administered by the City of Latrobe. The greater Latrobe Valley urban area of which Traralgon is part has a population of approximately 125,000. The origin of the name Traralgon is uncertain.
