Tyrendarra

Tyrendarra is a locality in south west Victoria, Australia. The locality is in the Shire of Glenelg local government area and on the Princes Highway, 338 kilometres south west of the state capital, Melbourne. The Tyrendarra township lies within a bend of Darlot Creek, before it enters the Fitzroy River—which also flows through the locality. At the 2006 census, Tyrendarra and the surrounding area had a population of 243.

Mount Eccles is located inside the national park and is the site of the most recent active volcano in Australia. The first activity was about 40,000 years ago when Mount Eccles was formed by lava pouring out the Earth's crust. The most recent eruption was approximately 8,000 years ago.

Heywood, Victoria

Heywood is a town on the Fitzroy River in the Australian state of Victoria. It is situated at an elevation of 27 metres amidst rolling green hills in an agricultural, pastoral and timbercutting district. Heywood is 357 kilometres west of Melbourne at the intersection of the Princes and Henty Highways and 27 kilometres north of Portland. It is on the railway line to Portland, at the junction of the presently-unused branch to Mount Gambier, South Australia.

Narrawong, Victoria

Narrawong is a small town in south west Victoria, Australia located on the Princes Highway to the east of Portland at the mouth of the Surry River. Narrawong Post Office opened on 1 March 1859. At the 2006 census, Narrawong and the surrounding area had a population of 176.
